Sumaira Rani

PhD student

I am a second year Graduate student majoring in Materials Science and Engineering at University of Houston. I did my bachelor’s degree in physics in 2019 at University of Sargodha, Pakistan, and master’s degree in physics in 2021 at Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan. During my master’s degree, I did my research project in an atomic and molecular laser spectroscopy laboratory. My primary research assignment was to investigate the plasma diagnostics in atomic Ytterbium using dual pulse laser induced breakdown spectroscopic technique. Now I have Joined Dr. Pieremanuele Canepa’s Research group as a research assistant. Aside from Scientific Research, I enjoy cooking, working out, games, dancing, exploring coffee shops, and watching Disney movies.
