On October 22nd, 2026, colleagues at the Texas Center for Superconductivity (TcSUH) at the University of Houston gathered to bid farewell to Prof. Piero Canepa and Prof. Yan Yao, who are leaving Houston for Purdue University and Columbia University, respectively.

Over cake and flowers, the center thanked both for their research, teaching and service at TcSUH and UH. We are deeply grateful to our colleagues at TcSUH and across the University of Houston for their support and friendship during our years in Houston, and we look forward to continuing our collaborations from our new homes.

The Canepa Research Lab moves to the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University on November 2nd, 2026 (see our earlier announcement). More photos are in Life in the group.
