Aaron (TJ) Kang

Research Scientist

I have completed my undergraduate studies under Faculty of Science in 2018 in the National University of Singapore (NUS), with a primary major in Chemistry and a second major in Mathematics. My final year project was done in Institute of High Performance Computing, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR IHPC) under the supervision of Professor Xu Guo Qin (NUS) and Dr. Tan Teck Leong (A*STAR IHPC). The project focused on simulating the thermodynamics of alloyed Titanium MXenes and predicting its functionality via Density Functional Theory (DFT), Cluster Expansion (CE) method and Monte Carlo (MC) simulation.

My candidature in NUS Science led to my interests in both experimental and computational material research for functional applications. Outside research, I spend time trying to keep fit and also make reading a lifelong habit.
